I gained valuable experience while writing and editing a wide variety of texts: from short stories, essays and articles to fantasy books and thrillers. My specialty lies with the exact sciences and the fantastic genres.
Popular science has been one of my main activities in quite some ways. For a few years I was final editor at the online interdisciplinary magazine Blind, which published arrticles that should be readable for a wide audience. I even wrote some articles myself, as can be seen at my publications. In 2007 I furthermore wrote a report about the role of an editor in popular astronomy, which handled several techniques to popularize. I expanded this for my master thesis into a large-scale research about two centuries of books about popular astronomy in the Netherlands.
I was able to build in the course of time some good knowledge about the fantastic genres and how they live in the Netherlands. I write short stories within these genres, and even won some writing contests with them, like the Price for Dutch Fantastic Literature 2003. Since 2009 I also look at them from another perspective, by acting as judge for Fantastels. But my experience goes further: I even had an internship at Mynx, at the time one of the largest publishers in the Netherlands within these genres.
Other kinds of texts aren't a stranger to me, as can be seen at my portfolio. Articles, texts for a block calender and even essays: with that last type I won in 2007 the Third Morf Essay Contest.
